Here’s one for us to file under the “I’m Not Surprised” file, a recent study released by the Bureau of Justice on Sunday revealed the African-Americans and Latinos are still more likely than whites to be searched and/or arrested during routine traffic stops.

I see that Paul Butler over at Blackprof has gotten a decent amount of mileage out of his recent post on Russell Simmons’ call for the entertainment industry to voluntarily ban the n-word, “bitch,” and “ho” from their media products. A friend of mine has started a non-profit organization called, Brown Babies. This is a fledgling North Carolina-based organization that is dedicated to uplifting children of color (hence the name). Here is a quote from their “theory of unity,”

For newcomers to Blackademics.org, please don’t let the previous two post titles fool you. We do engage in meaningful, intellectual debate here. The ridiculousness has just been overwhelming in the past several days. Nigger Brown - no, it’s not the title of a new play from Tyler Perry. Nigger Brown is the color of Doris […]
