B-demics in ‘07

Greeting Blackademics, Happy belated New Year! Now that we’re all done celebrating, I wanted to share some resolutions and new developments that will be taking place on Blackademics.org in the 2007. We will be releasing the Blackademics mixed tape this year, we will give away our first batch of grants/scholarships, and we are adding some new full-time contributors to our roster of brilliant brothers and sisters. On top of all that, we have some great new interviews coming up in 07′, including Ghanaian author, poet and playwright Ama Ata Aidoo (January 15th); political activist, humanitarian and hostage negotiator, Reverend Jesse Jackson (February 15th); and legendary 10-time Grammy award winning Jazz composer, Herbie Hancock (March, 15th).

I would personally like to thank you all for you consistent support in 2006 and look forward to innovating, engaging in discussion and breaking new ground in 2007.

Peace
